How much does junk removal cost in Sonora?
A few items, such as a couch and an old treadmill, usually run $200 to $400. A 16-foot trailer piled high is typically $700 to $1,000. Concrete, tires, mattresses, and fridges or freezers cost more. One flat price before anything is loaded, dump fees included.
How soon can you come out?
Estimates usually happen the same day or the next day, and most jobs are booked within a couple of days after that. Calling is the quickest way to get on the schedule; the form works too, and we call you back.
Do I need to be home when you haul?
Not for an outdoor pile or a garage, as long as it is clear what goes and payment is arranged. For anything inside the house we would rather you, or someone you trust, be there. Cabin owners who live out of the area can send photos with the form for a price, and we send photos when the job is done.
Do you take appliances, mattresses and hot tubs?
Yes. Fridges and freezers cost a little more because the transfer station charges a Freon removal fee, and mattresses carry a per-mattress fee there. Hot tubs are cut apart and hauled in pieces once the power is off. Water or gas lines on an appliance need to be disconnected before we arrive.
What will you not take?
We do not haul hazardous materials: oil-based paint, solvents, fuel, propane tanks, pesticides, asbestos and chemicals. Latex paint and clean motor oil can go to the Cal Sierra Transfer Station; most of the rest goes to the county's household hazardous waste drop-off in Jamestown, by appointment. We will tell you how.
Is it cheaper to rent a dumpster?
It depends on the job. A dumpster suits a remodel where debris comes out over several weeks: you do the loading, and it sits in the driveway until it is picked up. For a pile that is ready now, we load everything in one visit. Tell us what you have and we will say which one fits.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance and show proof on request.
What areas do you serve?
Sonora and across Tuolumne County, including Twain Harte, Jamestown, Columbia, Tuolumne, Groveland, Soulsbyville and Mi-Wuk Village, plus Angels Camp, Murphys, Copperopolis, San Andreas and Arnold in Calaveras County.
Who is behind Tuolumne County Junk Removal?
A local crew based in Sonora, run by owner Levi Cones, in partnership with Wacky Weedeating, the brush clearing and yard work company in the foothills. Hauling grew out of that work, so it now has its own name.
